The magazine Horse recounts the recovery of a 17 year old Welsh Cob called Flyer.

The horse had been diagnosed with terminal liver failure and was due to be destroyed.  given a last ditch chance the horse was prescribed homoeopathic treatment by Ainsworths.

GGT levels of 260 at the peak have returned to 31 over the course of the treatment and the horse has returned to apparent health.

12hh Welsh Cob ‘Grace’ diagnosed with GGT of 120 as slight symptoms indicative of ragwort poisoning. Evidence existed in the grazing paddock of light grazing on seedling ragwort leaves and the pony was seen to eat a seedling ragwort leaf taken in with a mouthful of grass and clover.

Prescribed Sugar Beet diet with reduced protein together with B() vitamin supplement.  Second blood test showed substantial reduction in GGT and a good prognosis.

Case is ongoing.
